Apple App Store

Apple App Store is an integrated data source (a Module) in UserSearch. It exposes Apple’s public catalogue of iOS, iPadOS and macOS apps, letting you look up an application by name and read back its published store listing. In UserSearch, the Apple App Store is one of the data sources behind the Product search type.

Official site: apps.apple.com

The App Store is Apple’s official distribution platform for third-party and first-party applications. Every app that ships through it has a public listing page — the same page a shopper sees before installing. As a data source, the App Store is the reference point when your starting point is a product or app name and you want the publisher, category, and public metadata Apple attaches to that listing.

When you run a Product search against the Apple App Store, it supplies public store-listing detail such as:

  • App name and developer / publisher
  • Category and store rating
  • Description and listing metadata
  • Price and in-app purchase indicators
  • Store URL linking back to the live listing on apps.apple.com

The Apple App Store appears under the Product search type as its own Module. You select it when your identifier is an app or product name and you want to match it against Apple’s store catalogue rather than another marketplace or index.
